FOX5 coming to Lamar County Speedway

Paul Milliken is coming to our track to do a feature on the GSKA. He will be coming the morning of June 22nd to do two live features for the morning show. Our plan is to put on a 206 Sportsman race for the 8:30 slot and a 206 Senior race for the 9:30 slot. This may include some interviews of some of our Junior drivers. This could be huge for our club and help boost membership. If you come out, we will offer you a free test day for helping us out.

2 Cycle Money Race

The GSKA is going to feature a 2 cycle money race for race #2, open to Yamaha Sr. and Tag Sr. There will be a $25 additional fee for the money race, with all proceeds going to the payouts. The total payout per class will be $300 guaranteed, but can go up if more racers attend. Tag Heavy can compete and their starting position will be based on their qualifying times.

Payouts will be:
1st place: $175
2nd place: $75
3rd place: $50

The money races will be 10 lap shootouts at the end of the day. Yamaha and Tag will run separate. Regular race qualifying will set positions. You do not have compete to in your regular race to be in the money race, but you do still have to pay your regular entry fee plus the $25 money race fee. We will collect the $25 at registration.

New Practice schedule announced

GSKA will no longer have supervised management of practice days, and has returned to our old testing schedule:

  • Mon-Sat – Practice available during daylight hours
  • Sunday – Practice from 12:00PM until dark (closed Sunday morning)

Be advised that practice is on the honor system, and Internet based video surveillance has been installed at the track, so we can monitor the track at any time to tell who is practicing.

Please note that payment is PER DRIVER not per kart. If you bring one kart and have 3 drivers drive the kart, each driver who goes on track MUST PAY FOR PRACTICE.

All practice is non-supervised practice. By signing up for practice you agree that you are doing so at YOUR OWN RISK. It is highly recommended that you do not practice by yourself, in case something does happen.

Dylan Murry races at Daytona

Former GSKA racer and Champion Dylan Murry made his IMSA debut at the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge this past January. Dylan, his father David and mom Trudy were one of the finest families to race with our club and a true class act. There is nothing cooler than seeing a graduate from our club go on to a professional career in racing. To read more go to Dylan’s web site: http://www.dylanmurry.com

New pricing structure, pricing page for GSKA

It has come to our attention that our club has not handled some aspects of insurance and liability in the correct fashion. Specifically, the difference between member racers versus non-member racers. If you are a member of a club or organization, you have certain responsibilities to that club that a non-member does not, and that can effect insurance or liability. It is for that reason that the Board decided to add a daily membership to our pricing structure. In reality, it does not increase the cost for a non-member to race, but changes their status with the club. So, from this day forward, the GSKA is officially a “Members Only” organization.

The following is the pricing page for 2018. We have held the line on price increases for a number of years, but have raised some of our prices for 2018. We have raised the cost on membership by $10 and changed the format on testing. Stay tuned for a major announcement on testing in the near future.
